Noirette series (JBF), #7 of 8

Culver to Seabreeze that sultry spring afternoon was not pretty. Traffic crawled, cars & tempers overheated. Hammer had the windows down on the '39 Hudson. Was it sweat or humidity on his brow? He didn't care. Hot is hot. A thunderstorm raced up from the lake. Lighting licked the horizon like a lusty lover; jabs of wind raked the shore. As he rolled up the window, he saw her southbound Cadillac jump the curb.
